Multiple explosions heard in Kiev

KIEV, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) — Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, was hit by a wave of explosions late on Monday after an air raid alert, the government-run Ukrinform news agency reported.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that high-speed targets were heading towards the Kiev region amid a threat of ballistic missile attacks.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on social media that air defense was operating in the capital. ■
